Cathy Duffy Reviews
“A refreshing change from the often frantic fare produced for young children.”
Cathy Duffy Reviews
Cathy Duffy has been reviewing homeschool curriculum since the 1980s, and publishers never pay to be reviewed on her site. Her review of Storyland Classics recommends it for pre-K through 1st grade and notes it fits a wide range of approaches, including Charlotte Mason, classical, Montessori, Waldorf, and relaxed homeschooling.
She also points out something parents appreciate: children can replay a favorite poem or story as many times as they like.
Learnamic
“The unhurried pacing is the point rather than a limitation.”
Learnamic
Learnamic reviews learning resources for families and lists about half of the ones submitted to it. Its review notes that Storyland Classics is built the opposite way from most children’s video, with no rapid cuts or constant motion, and is made for calm viewing, bedtime, and quiet time.
It’s a good fit, the review suggests, for families who don’t object to screens so much as to the frantic way most children’s video is edited.
Home Educated
Storyland Classics is listed in the Home Educated directory, a collection of homeschool resources and support for families.
