✦ About the Rhyme ✦
“Row, Row, Row Your Boat” first appeared in print in America in 1852, and the tune most people sing today was published in 1881. It is a favorite song to sing as a round, with each group starting a line after the one before.
Children often sit facing a partner, hold hands, and rock back and forth as if rowing a boat together.
