✦ About the Rhyme ✦

Lost and Found

“Little Bo-Peep” first appeared in print in the early 1800s, though the name “bo-peep” is much older and comes from the game of peekaboo.

The rhyme’s advice is gentle and wise: sometimes the best thing to do is wait patiently, and what was lost comes home on its own.
