✦ About the Rhyme ✦
“Freddie and the Cherry Tree” is an old-fashioned rhyme from the nursery tradition, the kind of short verse once printed in illustrated books for very young children.
Cherry trees appear in many classic children’s rhymes and stories, perhaps because the fruit is so tempting: bright red, hanging just out of reach, and best eaten straight from the branch.
